The Tifton-Tift County Public Library is the largest branch of the Coastal Plain Regional Library System which in turn is a member of the PINES consortium. PINES (Public Information Network for Electronic Services) is Georgia’s “borderless library” system that allows PINES card holders free access to books and other materials in 284 library branches and affiliated service locations throughout the state. We are located in the southern part of the state, approximately 70 miles from the Florida border on Highway 75.
The collection at the library consists of approximately 57,000 items in a variety of formats. We offer books in Large Print as well as regular print, magazines, audiobooks, DVDs and CDs. Because we are a member of the Georgia Download Destination, our patrons have access to thousands of e-books and audiobooks all downloadable to a variety of devices. We have a small local history and genealogy collection and the complete run of the Tifton Gazette newspaper on microfilm. We also have a small, but growing, collection of materials in Spanish.
The library offers programs for teens and children on a regularly basis. Programming for adults and special needs populations is developed as needs and interest are expressed. We would be glad to work with you and your group to develop a successful program.
